the Cathedral of Amiens, France

We would have to drive back to Amsterdam from France today. As usual, we stopped at a world heritage site on the way, the Cathedral of Amiens.  I didn't know much about the world heritage but I thought that all of them as I had been visited while in Europe, was so wonderful!
Fantastic!

Mont Saint Michel, France

First impression!
We left the hotel this morning to Mont Saint Michel! The other main destination for this trip. It was so  Impressed the first time you saw Mont Saint Michel from a distance, It looked like a heaven in the cloud! Mom ranked this as the first favorite among all we had visited so far, above Edinburgh. We parked the car and took like a million photos with Mont Saint Michel in the back. Mom took out picnic sheet from the car trunk and with some snacks and drinks, we were all set! A picnic in a very beautiful scenery! After satisfied by the view near parking lot, we walked passed through a lot of shops to the cathedral inside and all of us agreed that the view from the outside was much better than that from inside!  If you come here, don't forget to take a walk around the island, enjoy the outside view before you get in!
The best picnic ever!

Le Havre, France

Today we visited a world heritage site of Normandy, Le Havre. We stopped at the Tourist Information of the city. It was so new and clean office with a plenty of parking area around plus clean toilet and free internet. This was the first place you should visit after a long drive to this city! Dad did not know exactly where to go in this World heritage city so we just relaxed by the beach while I was playing in the big park nearby. I thought that dad should have studied more before the trip! After that we just went for shopping at Carrefour and had dinner at the sea food restaurant nearby. We had mussels, fish soup, etc and all was very delicious!

Strasbourg, France

Here where we used P&R,
very convenient
I ate breakfast in the hotel slowly and went to the city of Strasbourg  around noon. Using the P & R, only 2.9 euro for round-trip train for all 3 of us + 3Euro for  parking! Yesterday we paid 6 euros for the parking but after driving around for 30 minutes finding the available parking lot!  It was more convenient and easier this way!

A lot of stairs and up high
but I'm not scared!
View from top of the Cathedral

We got into the department stores for a while, mom got a boy sweater (for herself) and a soft and comforting pillow (again, for herself)! Then we went to Strasbourg Cathedral once again at about 2pm. Today I climbed the narrow stairs up to the top. I didn't count but it felt like a million stairs and it got up  higher and higher from the view outside that I was a little scared and I made it to the top. How great! The view from the top was breathtaking. We went to the Rohan Palace nearby after got down from top of the Cathedral and  arrived at the Central Station without knowing while you were wandering around. The Central Station was the interesting building looking like a stadium with glass. In the evening, we had salad , steak, onion soup and 2 foie gras dishes (… the large pieces of foie gras probably served for 6 persons if we ordered in Japan) in the vicinity of the cathedral. Very happy Mommy!

We could see all detail of the roof!

A short 4-hour drive from Munich, we arrived in the World Heritage Strasbourg in France in the afternoon. After checking in the hotel that was a little away from the town, we started our sightseeing at 2pm, a bit late! We parked our car near the Petite France and walked.  At first we were wandering around without knowing the direction, followed our dad's lead!!! but finally we could go through the Petite France and arrived safely at Strasbourg Cathedral.

This is my favorite french sweets!

Yum 〜
